Floods and Tropical Monsoon

Well last night was when all the heavy rain really started. Mum awoke at 5am to see flashes of lightning and the heaviest rain she had heard for a long time. Mum then quickly ran outside and brought me in and I decided to do some zoomies around the house. The rain kept coming and the yard slowly started flooding. Alot of other places close by are flooded and no one can leave. All this is coming from a cyclone about 4 hours away and a monsoon low hanging around. Then the wind started to pick up and it wasnt until mum went down to the beach that she saw what was really going on. Trees had been claimed by the ocean, angry waves pelted the sand. The walk space on the beach was no more. The cyclone/low (may change) is heading straight for us so this weather may continue for a while to come.

Rain, rain and more rain

Well the wet season has started and the rain has come. We have had so many storms lately, especially during the night. The lightning flashes and it look slike daytime, the thunder is so loud that the house seem to shake and all the while the rain is pounding on the roof. The wet season has finally arrived, the weather is muggy and humid but at least it's cooled down a little.

Playing like crazy

A few days ago one of my best doggy pals Rusty (http://cherryandrusty.blogspot.com/) came over for a playdate, unfortunately his sister Cherry couldn't come because she still had stitches from her recent operation. I was so happy to see Rusty since I hadn't seen him in a while and we played like crazy! We always have so much fun when we get together and those humans have to watch out because we dont look when we run, we'll run right into you and knock you over. It has happened a few times before, mum even got it on video once. Here are some pictures from our fun filled playdate!

My day - December 28th

Last night there was a thunder storm with oud thunder and lightning, lots of rain too. The thunder continued from the early hours of the morning until around 9am. Then the rain continued, very heavily might I add, for a few hours. Mum was planning on going to the zoo today but she wasnt able to because of the rain. She stayed home with me and I slept around alot. Then I got to go for a really long walk which I enjoyed very much!

Hi there

Well this is my first blog and I am still getting used to it all but I'm sure I'll manage. As you may have noticed I am a dog and I will use this blog to write all about my exciting adventures that happen in my day to day life. My name is Shandi and I am a two year old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador mix. I have been with my family for almost a year now and they sure do love me alot! I live with a cat called Zara who my owner has had for just over four years. She doesnt like me much but I try to get her to play with me. I have the typical Lab personality, friendly, loving and totally hyper! I look forward to writting more blogs in the near future, stay tuned ;)
